Divine Daze Season 19 Episode 6

Divine Daze Season 19 Episode 6

Half way through the season with episode 6 upon us. The weather has cooled off and everyone’s favourite time of the year is finally here. We’ve even had a cold snap or 2 already in May!! One question I have is, is everyone as confused about the Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday as I am…. Is it in June or October?…. and how can they just keep changing it around all the time…. I’m so confused. What is do know is the Cairns Show Holiday is Friday 21st July and we will be closed that day.

Short film…

We were also part of a film featuring a group of mountain bike girls, who made their way up to Cairns to shoot a short mountain biking film aiming to empower women. Their vision “what if for one day we just said yes to everything”. The girls climbed mountains, went out to the reef, hung out in the tablelands and got spray tans (this is the part where we come in). the film is due to be aired on SBS in the coming months, we’ll be sure to let you know when so you can watch.

Airbrush makeup

nine

We have been playing with some airbrush makeup, my friend Wade has been teaching us a few tricks and we’ve had heaps of fun creating some festival looks with bright colours. Airbrush makeup can also be used to create a flawless base with foundations that look fantastic in photographs. Once we get up to speed with the techniques, we can start using it for formals and other event styling which is very exciting.

Speaking of Formals and events it’s that time of year where the weather is beautiful and things start happening in Cairns. Last weekend was the Port Douglas Carnival, which I missed as I went down to Melbourne. Next coming up on the 3rd June is “Who Said” at the Fred Moule Pavilion. A music festival featuring some Australian electronic bands. It’s always a bit of fun to do some different hairdos for these music festivals so if you’re attending and not sure what to do we would love to get creative with some braiding and glitter. St Monica’s and Cairns High Formals are in July and we are nearly booked out already so be sure to get organised if you have any formals or graduations to attend this year. Then of course we have the races in August and September, Caitlin and I will be in South Africa for Cairns Cup this year but Lisa, Mikayla & Mariella will still be here for all your race day up do’s, makeup, spray tans etc. then For Amateurs we will have all hands on deck.

Kevin Murphy Education

km

We are doing our annual Kevin Murphy Cut Me education again this in the next episode with International Educator Wade coming to Divine to teach us the new haircutting trends for 2017. As always after these education sessions we are left feeling so inspired with new haircuts and little tricks to try on you all. Kevin always takes his inspiration for his new collections from a certain era collaborating with the latest fashion trends so we can’t wait to see what he has in store this time.

Following on with education we are also doing the last instalment of our System Professional training with the Wella Educator from Brisbane. So we will be fully up to date with all your System Professional Hair Care needs. the range has really taken off since we launched it in February and all the feedback and results have been amazing. If you haven’t had your energy code mapping done yet be sure to ask at your next appointment of phone us to make a time for a free consultation.

On My TV

bll

My TV shows for this episode are 7 Types Of Ambiguity, an Australian Series on ABC Starring Alex Dimitriades. It a drama kind of like “The Slap”, Dimitriades is really good in it. Season 3 of Fargo has just come out on SBS too it’s one of my favourite shows.
