Can someone please tell me what is going on in this town?

We have just had the busiest November ever on record!! And there was even an election called, which for some reason usually causes business to stall until we know which idiots are in charge of our state government, but the whole town seems to be buzzing!! Have you tried the new Perrottas Italian Kitchen at Barr St Markets near Stocklands? If not, you have to try the pizzas!! Best in Cairns!! If you do decide to go I believe they are doing $15 Pizza & Pasta on weekdays for lunch & dinner. I Highly recommend. We’ve also been getting lunch delivered from Noa (Thanks Sam) beautiful food!! You can taste the love that goes into it.

It’s been a while since I’ve had to go on this rant, but a few of the old box colour disasters have started to raise their ugly heads again.! I’m not sure what comes over people who look after themselves and take pride in their appearance, they rattle off a bunch of excuses which don’t make any sense… like I didn’t have time, or I had too many bills this week, or some excuse about our colouring. All this is bulls@*%, because 90% of these cases result in an expensive year-long colour correction process that never leaves the hair in any condition that resembles the hair you once had!!! It’s more like dried out dog s@#% or mangoes sucked dry from a flying fox… hair that can no longer hold any other colour except for red or black. Think of it like your boyfriend has gone to a cheap crack whore for some weak excuse and got something you can’t get rid of…. Hair AIDS. It then takes years to get it back to the original state that we invested all our time, money and planning into. So the next time you hit that cheap nasty isle of the supermarket or the chemist and think it’s a good idea, remember that all you’re paying for is the creative writing and the image that is promising the world for $8. Please, think again and remember that in life you always get what you pay for. Your hair is on your head… you can’t take it off and you will look and feel as cheap as the box you’ve just bought. there are no excuses, we are so passionate about saving the world from this menace that we are willing to come down in the middle of the night to set up a payment plan to stop you from getting hair AIDS if that’s what it’s going to take…

Any way that’s enough about that, I probably won’t have to do that again for a while 😉

Map your Hair Energy

Wella is running a promotion for December & January to promote the System Professional Energy Code. All you need to do is go online and enter your details. You will then receive a digital voucher that you need to present to us at your appointment. This voucher gives you a complimentary Energy Code Mapping, in salon treatment using the products from your Energy Code. To get your energy code we use a diagnostic camera to take images of your scalp and hair. That information is then used to answer a series of questions on the System Professional App to determine the exact products you should be using for your hair. On top of that we’re also going to throw in a Blow dry so you can feel the difference and feel amazing when you walk out of the salon (offer is not valid on Thursdays or Saturdays and cannot be used with any other service).

A note from Miki

A few weeks ago Ed and I went to Melbourne for a short holiday, Ed went and caught up with his friend and I went to see the sights of the town as well as an interview. Some of you may know that I’ll be leaving in January to try my luck in the big city! I had an interview with Oscar Oscar, a salon in St Kilda and it went really well! I got the job! It’s been really hard saying goodbye to my clients some of you have been with me from the start from 2007! But with Ed’s divine cutting skills and Caitlin’s amazing colour work not to mention Mairella’s perfect permanent straightening, you’ll be in great hands! Thank you to everyone you’ve all made my experience here at Divine fabulous and I’ll miss you all and if by chance you happen to be passing through St Kilda come say hi! Ed knows where I am.

Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

As I am sure you’re all aware, Christmas is just 3 weeks away… after a choc full November we’re all geared up for a busy December. I hope you have made your appointments because we are nearly booked out. We will be extending our hours by appointment only so if you are worried you won’t have time please call us and we can negotiate something with you. We will be trading right up to Saturday 23rd December. I’m going away on Christmas Day and will be returning to work Tuesday 16th January. The girls will be working 28th-30th December and back on Wednesday 4th in the New Year.

Every year we always receive such kind gifts from you all, I just wanted to say that even though I’m not drinking any more the girls and clients love having a glass of bubbly leading up to Christmas as a bit of relief from the silly season, and I love pouring it for them. Food & champagne is greatly appreciated, especially now Dad is not around to look after us when we’re so busy.

2017 has been a fantastic year, Cairns is finally getting its confidence back and we’re looking forward to 2018. Divine will be coming into our 20th year stronger than ever!!
